Highland Cemetery was one of the many projects put together by the visionary founders of the City of Great Falls. Its lovely sight was chosen for its awe-inspiring views from the top of a hill overlooking the Missouri River, and the Highwood, Little Belt and Big Belt mountain ranges. It has many sections organized by the particular options individuals and families may want for the burial of a loved one.
Highland Cemetery is one of the few cemeteries in Montana that are run by a private trust, governed by a board of directors. Most other cemeteries in the state are run by County cemetery districts.
